self assessment.

I feel as if the semesters only just started even though we're already over a month into it. I love my superfit class because every person in the class makes you feel as if you're a part of something. We have so many people that know how to encourage each other and I think I'm one of them. My one downside is that I need to be able to use that same encouragement on myself! My goal for the semseter is to push myself more during fitness. At the same time though I can't push myself to the point to which I get hurt. I need to find my happy medium. For me that's the goal for this class. The field trip and activities that we are doing have really helped me to become closer with people that I normally wouldn't see myself talking to just because of a lack of conversation. Slowly its changing, I love getting to know these people because they are all so different. Being able to connect with others while trying to better my health means that I have a whole group of supporters trying to help me achieve my goals.
People say I'm a leader. I wouldn't agree. I aspire to be a leader and I'm LEARNING to be one. I watch others the same way that other watch me and I hope that my postive attiude, willingness to participate and just love of fitness will help them have a great time being in this class. The semsters getting off to a great start in my opinion and I can't wait to see how the rest of it shapes up! Overall I'd say I've been an active participant this class:)

SNOW SHOEING!

This must have been one of the best experiences I've ever had! Not only did I get out of my comfort zone, I had more fun then I expected. Being able to go into an environment so different from our school gym, the weight room and our many fields is such a privilege. I'm glad I was able to go because from what other people had told me, snow shoeing wasn't going to be that great. Now I know that no matter what people say, you need to experience the situation yourself to be able to fully determine whether you like it or not. I can't wait for all the other activities we have planned!

Today; weight room week

This week SUPER FIT is in the weight room! A lot of kids like being in the weight room but for all the wrong reasons.. Mostly I'd say it's the girls that think they can sit on a bike for an hour and not get sweaty or ruin their hair-.- WHO CARE! Get sweaty, get healthy! Nothing looks better than a healthy body in my opinion.
My goal this week is to work on specific muscles each day! Today I did exercises that worked the muscles in my shoulders, arms and legs. My key focus though was my shoulders and biceps. With the encouragement of SUKHPAL AND BANITA I was able to lift 50lb , I've never been able to do that before! ** NEW ACHIEVEMENT :) being in the weight room is like a free trip to the gym! I was able to do 4 sets of 25 squats with a medicine ball as well as stationary lunches with 10lb dumbbells. Throughout my whole workout I could feel my pulse quickening and see the redness appear on my face as I pushed myself to work harder. And the sweat on my forehead was more then visible (thank goodness for face wipes) #sweatykidproblems Hopefully the rest of my workouts this week turn out as good as today!

Blogging..

I'm not use to blogging on this so remembering to do it is a bit of a challenge. However downloading the blogger app is a huge benefit and way easier then using the school cows..

---------------------------------------

So far I'm loving superfit! The group of people in my class are the type that make me want to come to class. The activities we've done are fun (extented beep test, capture the flag, Yoga, circuit) although I'm not the biggest fan of doge ball! Also I feel like physically and mentally I need to learn to push myself more rather then giving up halfway through something (12set- hill run). Hopefully by the end of the semester self limitations won't be an issue for me and my body will be able to handle that.
FIELD TRIPS... I can't even explain my excitement .. So far the class has gone to broom ball (LOVED IT) and taekwondo (MISSED IT... Stupid dentist appointment) and tomorrow we're headed to mt. Seymour for snowshoeing (CAN'T WAIT) And as for the rest of the trips we have planned... Im sure they're all going to be tons of fun and great learning experiences :)

The Beginning.

The semester just started and I'm already feeling the impact of super fit. My body is constantly sore because I'm not use to this much fitness. Although I'm an athlete, I don't understand how my body works as well as I should. I tend to get injured a lot, mostly my legs. I took super fit not just to become more athletic but to stop myself for getting hurt. After doing the first beep test my shins started to throb and running is now a big challenge for me. I hope to learn how to prevent or help my legs to better my physical abilities. My muscles are tight and hurting but hopefully as the semester goes on it will all get better. I know my fitness is better then it used to be because of my improvement on the beep test throughout the years. Even now my score for my this semester's first beep test was close to my highest score last year. For now pushing through and not giving up are my goals.
